Keeping track of which ribbon should be mounted where can be confusing. Dr. Michael R. Gustafson, who is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Pratt School of Engineering, Duke University, and a Lieutenant in the Naval Reserve, has developed an excellent "ribbon checker." Even though it was developed for use with Navy ribbons, it can be used quite effectively with ribbons of other branches of the Armed Forces. It is used here with Dr. Gustafson's permission.
